Walking fruitless paths is a requirement for being an artist. One must be able to dedicate to something that may not work out. Indeed sometimes there must be a dedication to things that must not work at all. It's the only way in. The wrinkle is in the trying. In tending the field that will not bear fruit. In dutifully providing water and nutrients to something that will not grow into flower or fruit. For knowing what something can't be is the only way to see what it truly is.

We wander fruitless paths for the ritual. To show that even here something is to be had and held onto. And once the fruitless fields are loved and lived and chosen it becomes a garden of dreams. With love and commitment those fruitless fields produce humanity.

Systems are aggregating and the visual field is set. While it has been a build it is a methodology that is also being lived. No past illusions to drain the sky. It is a portrait not from the eye.

Such a funky groove, Herbie Hancock's Hang Up Your Hang Ups implores one to relax and settle in. It reaches out with some bite but always brings it back to a nice big chorus. Lettuce brings another version and pulls the source into new territory almost inverting the groove and keeping the same intensity. It reads less as a cover and more as an alternate dimension version of the same tune. Athough it's so good the transformation feels inevitable.
